Round Up: Go-Ahead Ireland AHL 3 & AHL 4
Mon, 19 May 2025

Naomh Fionnbarra picked up their second win in four days as they edged Round Towers Clondalkin by 2-17 to 2-15 in their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 3 clash at Monastery Road on Saturday evening.

Sean Lambe continued his excellent recent form in the ‘Barrs full-back line and his efforts and those of Jack Gunnery helped keep a talented Towers attack in check for the large part.

Further up the field, Cian Peppard Leonard chipped in with two points from half-back as the visitors claimed the victory thanks to 1-6 from Eamonn Dillon and 1-3 by Tommy O’Neill.

Elsewhere, there was a surprise result at Páirc Naomh Uinsionn as St Vincent’s ended the unbeaten record of league leaders Commercials, prevailing by 1-14 to 0-12.

That result allowed Naomh Olaf to overtake the Rathcoole outfit at the summit as they continued their recent goal spree when defeating O’Toole’s by 4-15 to 0-14 at Blunden Drive.

Elsewhere, Setanta bounced back from two successive defeats to get back on the promotion trail with a 3-23 to 3-12 win against Scoil Uí Chonaill.

In Go-Ahead Ireland Division 4, Castleknock produced an exhibition in point scoring as they defeated Ballyboden St Enda’s by 0-26 to 0-16 at Somerton Park.

The visitors raced out of the blocks to lead by 0-7 to 0-3 but Castleknock gradually got to grips with the Boden attack thanks mainly to excellent displays by the likes of Ronan Conway, Eoghan Dalton, Conal Dillon, Colm Breslin and Ben O’Neill.

The free-taking of Luke Whelan and the scoring brilliance of Richie McInerney allowed the hosts to regain control of matters by the interval as they overturned their deficit to lead by 0-13 to 0-9.

McInerney scored 0-9 in total with eight of those points coming from open play and with Whelan adding 0-10 (7f), the hosts pulled away by the end courtesy of three points from influential half-forward Adam Nagle.

In Pearse Park, Crumlin were pushed all the way before eventually seeing off a stubborn St Maur’s by 2-23 to 1-14.

The scoreline was flattering on the hosts but they did enough to move up the table with Conor Murphy and Peter Elliott impressing in their defence.

In attack, Crumlin proved too sharp with Kevin Elliott, Adam Doyle, Sam Caswell and Darragh Fay all making telling contributions to help their side to their fourth win of the campaign.

Kilmacud Crokes continue to lead the way as they registered their sixth successive victory when overcoming Skerries Harps by 4-19 to 0-12 with Kevins remaining on their heels as they defeated Faughs by 4-16 to 1-15 in Dolphin Park.
