Naomh Olaf were in seventh heaven last Thursday night as they got the better of Setanta by 7-21 to 3-20 in their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 3 clash at Páirc Uí Bhriain.
The win, albeit briefly, propelled the Balally outfit over their previously unbeaten opponents at the summit of the table with Eoin Foley doing the bulk of the damage as he scored no less than five goals.
Sean Bourke and Conor Hoban also raised green flags for a Naomh Olaf side that were best served over the hour by goalkeeper Mick O’Connor, Jack Keane, Conor Regan, Donal Leavy and Harrison Byrne.
Matters were far tighter at the 12th Lock as Lucan Sarsfields cemented their mid-table position as they edged Naomh Fionnbarra by 1-19 to 0-21.
The foundation for their victory lay at the back through the defensive excellence of James Finn, Paddy Ryan and Anto McNulty with Sean Langton also impressing with two points from wing-back.
Brendan Kavanagh top scored with 1-4 and with Joey Dunne and Cian McHugh scoring 0-6 and 0-5 respectively, Lucan prevailed through a late winning score from Dave Kavanagh.
On Saturday evening, Commercials regained top spot as they completed their fifth successive win when accounting for Round Towers Clondalkin by 1-16 to 2-9 at Monastery Road.

In Go-Ahead Ireland AHL4, Ballyboden St Enda’s temporarily took over top spot in the table as they pipped Clanna Gael Fontenoy by 0-15 to 0-13 at Sean Moore Park on Thursday night.
The free-taking of Morgan Ryan ensured that the visitors kept in contention throughout with centre-forward Eoin McKenna adding three points from play for Boden.
Further down the field, David Gannon and Alan Holland combined well at midfield and with Jack Hutchinson resolute between the sticks, St Enda’s secured the win courtesy of an excellent late block from Andy Hand.
Boden slipped back into third spot by Saturday night as Kilmacud Crokes and Skerries Harps overtook them following their contrasting wins against St Maur’s and St Jude’s respectively.
On Saturday evening, a brace of first-half goals by Kieran Mullen proved crucial as Castleknock defeated Faughs by 2-22 to 3-15 at Somerton Park.
Mullen, Sean Boyle and Luke Whelan starred in the opening quarter as their side raced nine points ahead but Faughs struck back with a late goal to keep the tie competitive by half-time.
The scoring contribution of Matthew Lynam kept the hosts in front as he clipped over 0-11 (8f) over the hour while Mark Connellan enjoyed a hugely influential display from midfield for Castleknock.
The visitors plundered two further goals in the final quarter but the hosts had built a sufficient buffer thanks to a trio of Boyle scores, two Whelan points and further scores by Richie McInerney, Connellan, Matthew Mullen, David Mullen, Oisin Toland and Keith Murray.
