Round-Up - PTSB Dublin IHC & Premier IHC Round 7

The semi-finalists in the PTSB Dublin Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship were confirmed on Saturday afternoon with Fingallians finishing the group stages in top spot after a high-scoring 5-30 to 5-16 win against bottom side Scoil Uí Chonaill at Lawless Park.  

There was a glut of goals in the early stages with Oisin Johnston and Harry Brogan both netting for Fins inside the opening ten minutes. 

Points from Johnston, Brogan and Mick Rock kept the home scoreboard ticking over before Rock and Johnston added further goals to edge the hosts 4-10 to 3-10 ahead by the interval. 

Lachlan Hayward, Cameron Clarke and Darragh Power all chipped in with scores in the third quarter while Johnston completed his hat-trick ten minutes from time. 

Their reward is a home semi-final date against a Naomh Olaf side that finished fourth in the group when narrowly succumbing to Lucan Sarsfields by 2-21 to 2-20 at the 12th Lock. 

Lucan will travel to Poppintree for their semi-final against a Setanta team that finished second in the group when drawing 2-21 apiece with Cuala. 

The relegation play-offs see Cuala host Scoil Ui Chonaill while Naomh Fionnbarra will have home advantage against Na Fianna, having beaten the Glasnevin outfit by 1-13 to 0-13 to finish in sixth spot.

Round Towers Clondalkin secured top spot in the PTSB Dublin Intermediate Hurling Championship as they enjoyed a narrow 5-14 to 4-15 win over Kilmacud Crokes at Silver Park on Saturday afternoon.

There was little to separate the teams throughout with the visitors gaining a marginal edge at the break thanks to excellent displays from Senan Walsh, Eoin Ryan and Alex O’Neill. 

A Ben English goal enhanced their position early in the second-half and they did just enough to see off their determined opponents thanks to the influential efforts of Gary Quinlivan, Darren Gilligan, Harry Kelly, Erin Finn and substitute Calum Hodgins. 

Towers will enjoy home advantage in their semi-final clash against an O’Toole side that impressed in attack when beating Crumlin by 3-26 to 4-16 at Blunden Drive. 

St Vincent’s claimed second spot and a home semi-final against Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels as they overcame Ballyboden St Enda’s by 3-14 to 2-10 at Páirc Naomh Uinsionn. 

The Marino side found the net courtesy of Paddy Donnelly, Conor Sheridan and Tom Glennon and they pulled away by the final whistle thanks to further scores by Alan Moore, Aidan Tancred and Jamie Henry. 

The relegation play-offs will see Boden travel to Kilmacud Crokes while Kevins and Crumlin will face-off at Dolphin Park in what should be a cracking local derby.
