Ballyboden St Enda’s maintained their title push as they made the short but fruitful journey to Tymon Park when edging St Jude’s by 1-16 to 0-16 in their PTSB Dublin Adult Football League Division 1 clash on Tuesday night.

The hosts enjoyed a narrow 0-9 to 1-4 interval lead with Mick Lawlor accounting for six of those points, including a brace of two-pointed frees while Michael McDonald pounced for the pivotal goal for Boden.

The visitors began to edge closer courtesy of two-pointers by Donagh McCabe and James Holland while Hugh O’Sullivan added a ‘45’ to add momentum to the St Enda’s challenge.

Alex Gavin was another to impress when introduced for the second-half, kicking two vital points and while Alex Hassett and Alan Connolly replied with late points for Jude’s, Ballyboden held on for a deserved win.

At the opposite end of the table, St Patrick’s Donabate boosted their survival hopes as they edged bottom side St Vincent’s by 3-12 to 3-11 in Ballymastone.

The hosts looked well set for a comfortable victory as Tadgh McDonald netted twice in the first-half while Sean Walsh raised a third green flag early after the break.

Points from Conor Moore, Dylan Knight Sands, Stephen Dempsey and Clyde Burke kept St Pat’s on the front foot, as did strong individual displays from the likes of Ben Gaston, Gareth McDowell, Conor O’Leary and Harry Stenson.

The visitors faced a twelve-point deficit in the final quarter and rallied back superbly but their efforts proved in vain as their relegation to AFL2 was confirmed with this defeat.

St Mary’s Saggart continue to slip towards the trap door as they suffered their fifth straight defeat when falling to Ballinteer St John’s by 5-18 to 2-11 in Marley Park.

Despite scoring two early goals, the visitors trailed by 1-7 to 2-3 at the break with the lively Aaron Bradshaw netting for St John’s.

The hosts assumed control of matters upon the restart through the displays of Matthew Gardiner, Bradshaw, Eamonn Naughton and Jack Lundy with goals from Bradshaw and Lundy extending their lead to ten points.

George Kenny replied for St Mary’s with a brace of two-pointed frees but a two-pointer by Ronan Cullen and a second Lundy goal saw St John’s ease to victory.

In AFL2, the three promotion spots were confirmed with Fingal Ravens and St Sylvester’s registering vital wins to join St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh in the top-flight for 2027.

In Rolestown, Ravens dominated from the outset on their way to a comfortable 2-22 to 1-10 victory against Naomh Mearnóg.

Points from Dylan Kettle, Niall Daly, Sean Kinsella and Jake Pope set the tone of home dominance with an excellent Max Duffy goal building a 1-15 to 1-2 buffer by half-time.

The visitors struck back through a quartet of two-pointers but Fingal continued to control matters through their dominant midfield pairing of Brian Gleeson and Eoghan Daly.

Conor Hannigan also shone from corner-back and with Eric Donohoe, Callum Monaghan, Pope, Simon Maguire and James Farrell all adding points, they secured their win through a Dan Cibotar goal.

Across in Broomfield, St Sylvester’s also seized the early initiative on their way to a controlled 0-16 to 1-7 win over nearest challengers St Brigid’s.

Rory Guiden (0-5) and Ross Keogh (0-3) helped build an 0-9 to 0-3 lead at the break and the introduction of Alex Wright for his first appearance of the season saw the hosts maintain their lead.
