The holders started brightly through two Ciaran Duggan points but a trio of scores at the opposite end from Eoin Sawyer saw ‘Knock enjoy a deserved 0-8 to 0-7 lead at half-time.

Group 4 provided the bulk of the drama on Saturday afternoon as Cuala and Ballymun Kickhams registered their first wins when pipping St Jude’s and Lucan Sarsfields respectively.
Rock top scored with 0-7 with the scoring returns of Rian Doherty (0-6) and Mark Lavin (0-4) proving in vain for Lucan by the final whistle.
