Scoil and Thomas Davis to battle it out for SHC ‘B’ honours

Scoil and Thomas Davis to battle it out for SHC ‘B’ honours

Fri, 4th October 2019

Scoil Uí Chonaill and Thomas Davis meet in the Dublin SHC 'B' final this Saturday in Parnell Park (5.0) to decide which of them gets promoted as champions.

Both sides have guaranteed SHC 'A' status for the 2020 season with their semi-final victories - Scoil defeating Na Fianna 1-17 to 1-11 and Thomas Davis overcoming Crumlin 2-16 to 1-12.

“We made it into the semi-finals last year and I felt that we let ourselves down a fair bit that night," said Thomas Davis manager Johnny McGlynn.

“Granted, we had a few injuries that didn’t help and I wouldn’t want to take anything away from Faughs, who were deserving winners, but we were determined this year to make up for the disappointment of last year.

“Our ambition this year was to make it up to Senior 'A' if possible and really, that has been achieved by just focusing on the next game and taking every match as it comes.

“We will do the same for next Saturday but we know we are in for a tough test against what is a very good Scoil Uí Chonaill team.

“We know them very well and have had some great battles with them down the years and I don’t expect it will be any different at the weekend," added Johnny.

Saturday's curtain-raiser at the Donnycarney venue sees Fingallians and St Jude's clash in the Dublin JHC 'A' final (3.0).

Highlights of both games will be shown on Dubs TV on Sunday afternoon, during our LIVE coverage of the Senior A hurling semi finals.
