ALL-IRELAND SENIOR CAMOGIE ROUND 2

WATERFORD 1-11 DUBLIN 1-5

Waterford captain Niamh Rockett led her team to victory in this six-point win for the Deise in Saturday's All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship Round 2 at Walsh Park.

Rockett scored 1-2 with Beth Carton hitting eight points as the home side finished the stronger to run out victors.

Waterford raced out of the blocks at the start with points from Rockett, Orla Hickey and Carton to move 0-3 to 0-0 up inside three minutes.

Dublin opened their account in the ninth minute with an Aisling Maher score and when before the break a Kerrie Finnegan goal gave the Dubs a 1-2 to 0-4 interval lead.

With wind advantage in the second half Waterford, through the accuracy of Beth Carton, made it tell.

But there was nothing in it inside the last eight minutes before Rockett's goal put Waterford on the road to victory.
