Invitation to take part in a study exploring behaviours toward sport officials in Ireland:

A team of researchers based at Ulster University, Queen’s University Belfast, the University of Lincoln and Coventry University are conducting research supported by Sport Ireland on the experiences of sport officials within Ireland from the perspective of players, coaches and spectators.

They invite you to take part in this survey if you are a player, coach, or spectator and have encountered a sport official at a competition/game over the past season.

The first part of this research involves a survey of your experiences of various behaviours toward sport official within your sport.

Your responses to this survey will be anonymous and confidential.

All data will be stored in compliance with GDPR principles.

In the survey you will be asked some questions about your experiences of behaviours toward sport officials.

This includes behaviours you have witnessed or have given yourself and includes both negative behaviours (e.g., abuse) and positive behaviours (e.g., praise, thanks).

They will also ask some questions about your views regarding sport officials within your sport and actions to reduce negative behaviours toward sport officials.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

You must be older than 18 years to take part in this survey.
