St Brigid's kept their hopes of qualification for the quarter-finals alive when comprehensively defeating Ballinteer St John's, 0-27 to 1-10, in Friday evening's Dublin SHC 'A' Group 2 clash at O'Toole Park.

The Russell Park men will face St Jude's in their concluding group game with the winner advancing alongside Cuala to the last-eight.

With Cian O'Sullivan, Eoghan Dunne, Paul Winters, Johnny McGuirk, Daire Plunkett and Donnacha Ryan all on target Brigid's were 0-15 to 0-5 clear by half-time.

Brigid's continued to hold the upperhand in the second half but the only goal of the contest was scored by St John's Aodhan Clabby, who finished with a personal tally of 1-7 (0-6f).

In the second game at O'Toole Park Lucan Sarsfields has no difficulty when overcoming Setanta, 4-22 to 0-15, in their Dublin SHC 'A' Group 4 encounter.

A Ben Coffey goal helped Lucan to a commanding 1-13 to 0-6 lead by the break before goals late in the second period from Ciaran Dowling and Chris Crummey saw Sarsfields to their 19-point victory.
