Staycity Launch Another Dublin GAA Season and 25% Discount on Bookings

Staycity Launch Another Dublin GAA Season and 25% Discount on Bookings
Wed, 21 January 2026

Staycity launched another season of Dublin GAA support at their Mark Street location in Dublin City centre on Wednesday and also announced a 25% discount across all their European destinations for all those that book before the 1st February 2026.

Staycity was founded in Dublin in 2004 and have been proud title sponsors of Dublin GAA since 2023.

Dublin players Sinéad Wylde, Niamh Crowley, James Madden and Greg McEneaney were in attendance at the launch ahead of the start of three campaigns this weekend – the camogie team don’t start theirs until next month when they take on Clare in the opening fixture.

The ladies football team start at home to Kerry in Phairc Jysk- home of Round Tower GAA club, Clondalkin- on Saturday (2.45pm) in what is sure to attract plenty of attention given the rivalry between the two sides over the last few years, and of course, the first sight of the new trial rules.

Ger Brennan’s footballers start their campaign at home to Donegal later that same day with a 5pm throw-in at Croke Park, while on Sunday, Niall Ó Ceallacháin’s hurlers travel to Ennis to take on Clare (2pm).

The Dublin hurlers brought their pre-season preparations as far as the final of the Dioralyte Walsh Cup Final last weekend, and after a drawn game against Galway, lost on penalties, in a very entertaining encounter, given the overnight rain and underfoot conditions.

For their part, the Dublin footballers lost out to Kildare in the O’Byrne Cup semi-final in a very competitive game in Cedral St Conleth’s Park.

Staycity Aparthotels is proud sponsor of Dublin GAA across all four codes of the game. At the season launch in Staycity Aparthotels Mark Street were Greg McEneaney, Niamh Crowley, James Madden and Sinéad Wylde. Get up to 25% off Staycity Aparthotel locations across Europe when you book before February 1st.

While this is the first competitive game of the season for the ladies footballers, there is plenty of intrigue for their opening game in the Lidl National Leagues against Kerry with the trialling of 12 new playing rules.

A mid-point review will be overseen by the Playing Rules Review Workgroup, followed by a final evaluation after the full trial period, and ahead of the LGFA Special Congress. Six of the 12 changes mirror the GAA Football Review Committee’s rule enhancements in the men’s game.

They are the kickout mark, the two-point scoring arc, the requirement to keep three players in the opposition half at all times, the solo and go, and frees being brought forward for tactical fouling or dissent from the sideline. Short restarts within the 40-metre arc will still be allowed, however.

The six other rule changes look specifically at current LGFA rules, including those related to the tackle, with the overall aim of ensuring that the playing rules of the game are fair, consistent, inclusive, and reflective of the modern development of the sport.

Tickets for the game in Phairc Jysk, Clondalkin, can be bought HERE, while tickets for the game in Croke Park can be purchased HERE.
