AIB Leinster Club Senior Championship Quarter Final
Reigning Leinster senior champions Kilmacud Crokes welcome Portlaoise to Páirc de Burca this Sunday (Oct 26th) for their provincial quarter final meeting. Throw in 14:00pm.
Just a week on from their preliminary round victory over Longford Slashers (FT 3-8 to 1-9) Kilmacud Crokes are once again looking forward to another home championship encounter.
Their opponents Portlaoise where recently crowned Laois senior champions for the fourth time in six years. ‘The Town’ defeated a St Conleth’s side who were aiming for a third consecutive title. The two sides were level at halftime during the Laois senior final but Portlaoise took control in the second half and outscored St Conleth’s by 1-7 to 0-2, going on to win in the end by eight points. FT Portlaoise 3-13 St Conleth’s 1-11.
Full forward Grainne Moran was Portlaoise’s top scorer with an impressive 2-04 (0-2fs), while team captain Aisling Kehoe chipped in with a personal tally of 1-03.
Louth referee Emma Dunne is the official in change of this much anticipated club championship encounter. The winners of which will play either Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels (Meath) or Ballinamere Durrow (Offaly) in the AIB Leinster senior semi-final on the 2nd of November next.
