DUBLIN SFC1 GROUP 4

ST VINCENT'S 4-13 BALLINTEER ST JOHN'S 1-10

St Vincent's kept their Dublin SFC1 dream alive when defeating Ballinteer St John's at Monastery Road, Clondalkin in their Group 4 encounter on Friday night.

Points from Tomás Quinn ('45'), Seán Lowry and Adam Baxter (two) gave Vincent's an early advantage before Enda Varley struck for their first goal in the 13th minute following good approach play from Cormac Diamond.

The Marino side maintained the upperhand, with Seán Lambe impressing at wing-back, and scores from Albert Martin and Diarmuid Connolly stretched Vins lead before Connolly set Quinn up for Vincent's second goal.

Coming up to the half-time break Vincent's were 2-7 to 0-3 clear before St John's finished the half with a point from Aaron Bradshaw and an Aodhán Clabby goal to make it 2-7 to 1-4 at the break.

Seven minutes into the second half Connolly scored a brilliant individual goal to push his side ten points clear and Enda Varley got their fourth goal with the outcome already decided.
