Vins sees off Craobh to progress to SHC semi-finals

ST VINCENT’S 2-14 CRAOBH CHIARAIN 1-10

Goals from Cian McBride and Conor Burke saw St Vincent’s safely into the last-four of the Dublin SHC ‘A’ with this seven-point victory in Sunday’s quarter-final at Parnell Park.

The sides were level with just seven minutes to play but it was the Marino men who finished the stronger to progress.

However, it was Craobh, through the accuracy of Alan McCrabbe, who led by three points, 1-8 to 1-5, at half-time.

Vins got the first goal when Burke fired to the net on the rebound after Rian McBride’s effort had come off the woodwork.

Then two minutes before the break Paul Kelly replied after good work by Robbie McMahon.

The sides were level, 1-10 each, in the 53^rd minute but then Vinnies reeled off the following five points.

Tom Connolly grabbed three of them, to add to the three his older brother Diarmuid had already tallied, Rian McBride and Ronan Fallon also raised white flags with the influential Cian McBride ensuring victory with Vincent’s second goal in the 56^th minute
