We will leave no stone unturned: Jack McCaffrey

Tue, 14th August 2018

Jack McCaffrey says that Dublin will "leave no stone unturned" as they prepare for the All-Ireland SFC final against Tyrone on Sunday, September 2.

The pacey wing-back delivered a tour de force in last Saturday's semi-final victory over Galway and hopes that Dublin can keep possession of the Sam Maguire at the start of next month.

"We’ll do a good bit of looking at Tyrone over the next two weeks and maybe the week of the game start turning the focus back to ourselves," says Jack.

"We’ll certainly leave no stone unturned."

Jack is hopeful that Dublin's All-Ireland Final Sunday experience will stand to them come the big day.

“It’s not the kind of thing that’s in your head every waking hour of the day but it’s a really special time.

“You find yourself chatting about football to people who might grab you for a conversation around Clontarf when you’re out having a stroll.

“It’s a very enjoyable time.

“I think we are fortunate enough in that we’ve been in this situation a number of times before so you don’t get carried away.

“It’s easy how it could happen that you overthink things and lose the run of yourself, but I think we’re all clued in enough now to stop that happening.

"At this time of year there’s no issue," adds Jack.

"If you can't get motivated with a three-week run in to an All-Ireland final then you’ve bigger problems.

"It’s a bit of a cliche but throughout the year it’s really the new lads that come in every year and keep driving things on a little.

"I know we’ve lads in the dressing room that are gearing up for their sixth final but we’ve also lads who are gearing up for their first."
