Sun, 29th September 2019

DUBLIN SFC1 GROUP 3

ST JUDE'S 1-9 THOMAS DAVIS 0-8

Diarmuid McLoughlin's injury-time goal sealed victory for St Jude's in Saturday's Dublin SFC1 Group 3 duel in O'Toole Park.

The win saw Jude's top the group and advance to meet St Vincent's in their quarter-final while Thomas Davis also progressed to the last-eight, on scoring difference ahead of Raheny, and will now face Castleknock in two weeks' time.

Points from Pádraic Clarke (both frees) settled Jude's but there was nothing in it during the opening period with Ryan Deegan top-scoring for Thomas Davis and the Tymon North side led 0-5 to 0-4 at half-time.

Neither side succeeded in opening up their opposition defence with Adam Fallon and Cian Murphy both doing well in the Thomas Davis defence.

But finally in added time a Thomas Davis attack broke down and Jude's countered for McLoughlin to ensure victory for Jude's.
