We’re fully aware there is loads for us to work on: Fintan Clandillon

Dublin minor hurlers are back on the right road following last weekend's All-Ireland MHC quarter-final victory over Antrim.

The Dubs will now face a highly-rated Cork in their All-Ireland semi-final on Sunday, August 13 in Croke Park (1.30) with Kilkenny and Galway clashing at the same venue seven days previous in the other last-four encounter.

Fintan Clandillon's men were comprehensive 15-point victors over the Glensmen in Newry last Saturday with Seán Currie top-scoring with a personal tally of 2-13 (0-4f).

This puts the Na Fianna clubman as the joint top-scorer (2-41) in the MHC to date alongside Kilkenny's Adrian Mullen (3-38), both with a scoring average of almost 12 points per game.

"I thought our performance was good," says Fintan. "But we are fully aware that there is loads for us to work on.

"After the disappointment of losing to Kilkenny in the Leinster final one of our short-term targets was to get back into Croke Park and thankfully we have managed to achieve that," adds the Dublin manager.

"No matter what game you lose on the big stage like that it's going to lead to bitter disappointment and the Leinster final was no exception.

"We just wanted to try and make the most of the opportunity that this quarter-final gave us and there was a great prize there if we managed to beat Antrim on Saturday.

"We are just delighted to have gotten over the line and move on to the semi-finals."
