Dublin and Derry will battle it out at Croke Park this Sunday when they face off in the Allianz Football League Division 1 Final.

After suffering back-to-back defeats in the first two rounds of the league season, Dessie Farrell’s men rallied themselves and got themselves back on track with five wins on the bounce, with one of those wins coming in the form of a well-deserved win against Derry at Celtic Park.

Last weekend saw Dublin pick up a 21-point win against Tyrone and the Boys in Blue weren’t short of scorers from all over the pitch. Niall Scully, Cian Murphy and Lorcan O’Dell all found the net, whilst Colm Basquel picked up 2-3 for himself.

Killian McGinnis, Ross McGarry, Con O’Callaghan and Ciarán Kilkenny continued their excellent form and should they feature in this weekend’s final, they will be crucial to Dublin’s chances.

Derry finished top of Division 1, picking up six wins alongside the loss at the hands of Dublin. Mickey Harte’s men have been impressive so far and ended the group stage of the league season with a solid win over Roscommon.

Lachlan Murray and Declan Cassidy were Derry’s green flag raisers last Sunday, but as ever, they could rely on Conor Glass and Shane McGuigan to make significant contributions.

The two counties met in last year's Division 2 final, with Dublin winning that encounter as they secured a return to the top flight. Both teams being in the final once again, a year after being promoted, highlights the progress and talent both senior panels have made and possess.

Dublin have an opportunity to pick up the first silverware of the season, but they know that they will be made to work for it by a very talented Derry team.

You can buy your tickets and back the boys here.

Those not at Croke Park this Sunday can watch the game live on TG4 from 4pm.
