ALL-IRELAND SENIOR CAMOGIE CHAMPIONSHIP

TIPPERARY 1-13 DUBLIN 0-11

Cait Devane starred for Tipperary in their Liberty All-Ireland senior camogie championship victory over Dublin at Parnell’s, Coolock on Sunday.

Her tally of 1-5 tally was crucial to the Premier County’s victory as Dublin were left to rue eight wides in the openign half alone.

Dublin started with intent as Tipperary ’keeper, Aine Slattery, came to her side’s aid when parrying a Jody Couch goal attempt out for a ‘45’ – which was converted by Aisling Maher.

Aisling Maher doubled Dublin’s lead, from a deadball again, before Tipp replied with two points of their own.

Ali Twomey then had restored Dublin’s lead.

In the 12th minute came the game’s only goal when Cait Devane was in the right place to gather a rebound off an upright before finishing to the net.

By the interval two fine points from Sinéad Wylde saw the Dubs a goal in arrears at the half-time break, 0-5 to 1-5.

Shortly after the restart an Aisling Maher free cut the gap to two but try as Dublin might a sequence of scores from Roisín Howard, Grace O’Brien and Devane saw Tipp move clear for victory.
